 Surround Yourself with Yaysayers

Creating is about directing the flow of energy - whether its creating ideas, prosperity, or anything else we desire in our lives - and it helps to surround ourselves with thoughts and people that are positive and supportive.

There are usually plenty of Naysayers in our lives who immediately respond to new ideas with reasons why they won’t work (including the Naysayers in our own head!). 

In the inspiring book Moxie! Ambition on a Mission, 9 Strategies for Taking Life by the Horns, Ann Tardy talks about the concept of Yaysayers.

She says that one of the ways to help us create abundance is all areas of our lives is to surround ourselves with Yaysayers - those people that believe in us, support us, and fuel us in our quest.

As Ann Tardy reminds us, the telephone, cars, radio, TV, airplanes, and home computers were all dismissed by Naysayers as a waste of time or having no intrinsic or commercial value. 

Earlier in my technology career I worked with a marketing visionary at a financial institution who had the idea of automatic teller machines (ATMs), and approached other financial institutions in the area with the idea of electronically networking banks together.  The Naysayers said that people wouldn’t be willing to conduct financial transactions with a machine.  A few years later many of us rarely deal with a live bank “teller”.

Ann reminds us to surround ourselves with people that provide us with positive feedback and encouragement - Yaysayers.

Who are your Yaysayers?  Make a list of the people that are in your life who respond to your passions, goals, and ideas with positive feedback, encouragement, and ideas; and next time you have an idea or need some encouragement, you’ll know who to call on.

Imagine how much more quickly and powerfully we could manifest our dreams if we each created our own Yaysayer Team - a group of positive minded people to encourage each other on our passions, missions, goals and ideas.

Be a Yaysayer for Others

And - just as importantly - who are you a Yaysayer for?  If you aren’t aware of who you are a Yaysayer for, make a list of those people in your life that you would like to actively support in their passions, mission and goals, and let them know you are available to help them - with ideas, resources, positive feedback, and enthusiasm.

Some of the best books on money base their ideas on the broader concept of prosperity and abundance in all areas of our lives.

Although there are some great recent books on money and prosperity, a few of my favorites are the classics below whose messages are still relevant today.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (first published in 1937)

Two books about money by thought-provoking maverick Stuart Wilde are The Little Money Bible, The Ten Laws of Abundance and The Trick to Money is Having Some, in which he affirms that “Money is a thoughtform.”

For an unconventional, visually stimulating, and entertaining read try Prosperity Pie, How to Relax about Money by Sark.

Although I haven’t read it yet, a friend I highly regard recommends Creating Money: Keys to Abundance by Sanaya Roman & Duane Packer.  It’s a channeled book that has a 5 star rating on Amazon.  My friend said it has made a huge impact on his life - thanks Steve!
