Metaphysics is a philosophical branch that focuses on explaining the meaning of life.  It seeks to explain the nature of reality and the world.  It is also a term that is used to describe things that are considered beyond science or not of this world, like occult topics.

One of the main areas of metaphysics is ontology.  Ontology is the study of how things in the world relate to one another.  Theology is another branch which focuses on the study of God and the general creation of the human race.  Universal Science is the study of principles such as  species, elements and notions of relation and finitude.

The property of objects is another major study of metaphysics.  Metaphysics will take two objects that may seem exactly the same and find the differences.  Or they may take two things that seem to be non-related and try to figure out how they relate.  The ultimate aim is to figure out the purpose for everything and how that relates to the universe as a whole.

The ideas of identity and change are also metaphysical in nature.  The idea of change is one that is constantly being looked at.  The main consideration is whether or not change is natural.  Change is something that is inevitable, yet its origins and its nature are very unclear.

Space and time are also topics of metaphysical studies.  In metaphysics it is a goal to find out how space and time relate to the human mind.  These ideas are rather large and are of a cosmic nature that has stumped even those well trained in metaphysics.

Metaphysics is a very driven field of study.  People who study metaphysics love to think.  They love to try to figure out things that seem to have no real answer.  They debate and they talk.  They are always trying to come up with an explanation.

Working with metaphysics requires the ability to think beyond logic and beyond what we know to be true.  It is trying to figure out the larger picture and how everything fits together.  It is something that is ongoing and a study that may never find all the answers it is seeking.
