Is There Life After Death?
November 6th, 2007Life after death is a very compelling subject. It is something that is debated throughout religions and society. There are many different beliefs about the topic and there really is no concrete proof as to which beliefs are right or wrong.
One thing most people agree upon is that there is life after death. However, that is where the agreement ends.
One of the biggest debates is over the details of life after death. As defined by some religious viewpoints, the details range from the idea of heaven to purgatory. People argue over the details because each religion has its own stories and ideals about what happens to a person’s soul after death.
Apart from the debates over the details some also debate over whether life after death includes reincarnation or not. Many religions believe in reincarnation, which is where the soul comes back to earth to live in another physical form. Some religions, though, do not believe in reincarnation and instead believe that once a person dies their soul then lives in the afterlife.
Despite the debates most will agree that there is life after death of some kind. It is a scary thought that when we die in this world that it is the final end. Most people hold onto the belief of life after death easily because the alternative is too hard to think of.
People like to believe their loved ones that have passed away are now living somewhere on another plane, happier then they were here on earth. They do not want to imagine that when they died their souls died as well.
The concept of life after death is something that is unique. Even those who are heavy critics of other unproven ideas like astral projection or psychic powers, often believe in life after death. Perhaps that is because of the fear of what happens if there is no life after death or maybe it is because the idea of life after death is so heavily rooted in religion.
Whatever the reason, life after death continues to intrigue and mystify people all over the world. It is one of those concepts that people have been trying to explain or prove for centuries. Despite the lack of evidence in life after death, people continue to stand by the concept and believe that there is such a thing as life after death.
